The Florida Board of Medicine will meet on August 5 in Broward County to discuss Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo's request for the Board to adopt a standard of care opposing transgender procedures and treatments for minors.

A few weeks ago, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) held a hearing in Tallahassee to discuss the DeSantis administration's related rule to ban Medicaid funding for these radical procedures, which gender ideologues have pushed on vulnerable children with no basis in science. Witnesses at the hearing included two young women who regretted the devastating transgender procedures they underwent as minors.

Transgender procedures such as sex reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers and cross-sex hormone treatments are extremely harmful, especially to minors – causing sterility and other irreversible physical and psychological damage, including bleeding infections, recurring rashes, blood clots, painful urination, and much more. Earlier this month, the FDA warned that puberty blockers also may cause brain swelling and permanent vision loss.

LGBTQ pressure groups are mounting a major effort to oppose the adoption of Surgeon General Ladapo's very important and necessary standard of care to protect young people from irreparable harm from transgender procedures. So please plan on attending this hearing and speaking up on behalf of the children. They need your voice!
